What makes you really belong…

How did the current President put it? “Mission Accomplished”. Yep, you sure can say that! Since yesterday, I am a licensed operator of motorized vehicles. Ok, not all of them, but SUV and sportcars are included for sure!

Finally, after so many years, I can really start contributing to the society by having a car that consumes an ridiculous amount of gasoline. Finally, I will pay my fair share of taxes AND push my consumption of useless goods to a new level when I start driving to all the places I couldn’t reach so far!

Furthermore, I can now participate in one of the most American of experiences: the drive-in or drive-through commerce. Be it fast food, pharmacies, coffee and bakery, or just a plain ATM, now they are all within my grasp. This means a big step for me in blending in with the folks!

Anyway, since “licensed to walk the path” and “walking to path” (and for that matter “knowing the path”) are entirely different stories, I will keep my indulgence into the American car culture to a certain minimum till I start feeling more comfortable in operating these beasts. I might wait one or two days before I take a spin on the I-95 down to Washington, DC… 😉

All right folks, so much news from here. All the best, Levent

    Congratulations Levent !!!

that was really fast, compared to the time and effort and money it takes in Deutschland to get your driver’s license.

When will you drive to NY ? The ultimate test, driving in Manhattan, although drivers in Boston are supposed to be even worse.

    Enjoy your new status !
